Contributor Profile: Monique Fielder

Time to tell you a little more about another of our generous tutorial contributors - Monique Fielder.  Monique has donated THREE fabulous tutorials to our packages - a gift card holder for our popular Bags, Boxes and Gifts Bundle, a Fathers' Day Card for our Masculine Projects Bundle, and a terrific tutorial on creating reflections for our Bonus Bundle.

Here's Monique to tell us a bit more about herself.

"To introduce myself I am a working wife and mother, I have an almost 15 year old daughter, who luckily for me also loves crafty pursuits.
The family moved to Canberra about 7 years ago and since then, apart from the odd school fete, I had let my love of paper craft slip by the wayside. That was until I went to a Stampin’ Up!® workshop run by a good friend of mine. At that time I fell in love with the products and the colours, the biggest thing being the way Stampin’ Up! took the guess work out of matching colours with accessories.
After just one workshop I made the decision to become a demonstrator and since doing so in February 2010 I have met some wonderful people, both in person and online.
Being involved with Stampin’ Up!® has also offered me the opportunity to be involved in some really great activities such as this fundraiser to assist Hudson. I have also donated cards to a SIDS and Kids awareness day, and have plans to use stamping to help people with mental illness in their recovery.
If you live in the Canberra area and have enjoyed the techniques in this collection and would like to have them demonstrated in your home, or learn more about Stampin’ Up!® please don’t hesitate to contact me."

Contributor Profile: Sarah Klass

Today we'd like to feature Sarah Klass, another of our generous tutorial contributors.
Sarah has donated a wonderful tutorial for a funky faux crocodile purse. We can't wait to try it.
You can find it in our Bags, Boxes and Gifts Tutorial Package.  (This one has been our most popular so far.)

Here's Sarah to tell us a little more about herself.

"Wife of one handsome man, mother of two sweet poppets, long time stationery nerd and Stampin' Up! demonstrator of four and a half years - that's me in a nutshell!

I have been a stamper for many years now, and a scrapbooker for slightly fewer, have dabbled in teaching at craft stores, and spent some time running a small, at-home wedding stationery business. Stationery and craft have always figured in my life somewhere, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Stampin' Up! has offered me the opportunity to love what I do and share what I love and I am lucky enough to be able to call that opportunity "work" :)

Being involved with such a caring company is a highlight in my life, as is the chance to meet so many like minded stampers, many of whom are helping out with this fabulous cause with which I am proud and delighted to be associated.  Go Hudson!"

Thank You, Your Support Is Amazing

Behind the scenes we have been working hard on this fundraiser to change Hudson's life. We are so grateful for the support everyone is giving to this project.  While working on this we have come to understand that this is not just about Hudson's KidWalk but so much more - it is about Hudson's future.
With the support that is flowing in ....
We will be making Tina and Rob's life that little bit easier - whether that is easier physically with specialised equipment to help with Hudson's development or with day to day life, or just a bit easier not having to be on so many waiting lists for things that they know would benefit their young son!
We will be making way for lots more happy times with Hudson's brother and sister!
We are paving the way for easier travelling for the family as a whole!
Our help will assist his carers at Kindergarten and Primary School in future years, and will also help with his therapy!

Together we'll be making a real difference for Hudson to help him get the most out of life.
It is an amazing feeling knowing that one little act of kindness can spread so far and wide and that there will be benefits that last for many years to come.

With that in mind until August 22nd we will be working very hard promoting our cause, the events on this blog and the exceptional value tutorials we are offering, while we aim for bigger and better goals.

We hope you can continue this journey with us and that you will eagerly await our big announcement on August 22nd when we share what we've all achieved for Hudson, with the wonderful support of the world wide crafting community.

Contributor Profile: Aly Adcock

My favourite time of the day - time to thank another of our wonderful tutorial contributors.  This time it is Aly Adcock, who created a handy Envelope Pocket Mini Album tutorial for our Scrapbooking Package and also step by step instructions for Faux Plywood technique for our Bonus Bundle (free for people ordering 4 or more of our Tutorial Packages.)

Here's Aly to tell us a little more about herself:
"Hi there! I'm Aly Adcock, and I'm just celebrating my first year as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I had tried to scrapbook several years ago, without much success, but have always been a little bit "crafty", so when I was invited to a card making class last June, I was keen to go.

And that ... as they say ... was that! I was hooked. I signed up as a demonstrator so I could get my "stuff" at a discount, but as I started using Stampin' Up! products and learning different techniques I fell in love with it, and started sharing with my friends. I now hold classes on a fortnightly basis, and adore stamping and creating cards and gifts. I have made so many new friends already, and I love building my Stampin' Up! business."

Contributor Profile: Alisha Watson

Let's find out some more about another of our tutorial contributors - Alisha Watson.

Alisha has contributed a wonderful tutorial for a Festive Stepper Box for our Christmas Tutorial Package.  It includes instructions for making a gorgeous paper bow too. Perfect to pop on top of your Stepper Box.

Here's Alisha to tell us a little more about herself:

"My Stampin’ Up! Business only started 4 months ago and I originally joined for my own personal use, but I have now got a few people who come to me regularly for their stamping and scrapping needs and have even done something I didn’t think I would do…A Workshop!!! I was bugged to do one, so thought why not, and you know what I loved it. So as you can see you don’t need to be a superhuman to make this work. I love my little Stampin' world on the web and really enjoy participating in lots of things in the Stampin’ Up! Communities."

Contributor Profile: Helen H

Time for our first contributor profile.  We've been looking forward to sharing with you some snippets about the lovely ladies who have donated such wonderful wonderful tutorials to this cause.

We thought we'd start with Helen H who donated a tutorial to our Masculine Projects bundle.  Well, it is really 3 tutorials in one.  Three gorgeous exploding insert cards.  We loved how Helen personalised them for this project with Hudson's name.  Here's a little peek.  Helen's tutorial is rather amazing - it has over 40 photos to clearly show you each step.

Over to Helen to tell us a bit about herself:

"Hi, I'm Helen & I've been entranced by papercrafting for nearly twenty years. I was tempted by SU's beautifully co-ordinated range of products & joined up as a hobbyist, so I could be my own customer! I really enjoy challenging myself to create cards that are just a bit different and am thoroughly inspired by the look of delight when a person receives a card or gift that has been crafted especially for them."

Week One: Challenge 3 - Technique

CHALLENGE 3
And last, but not least, we challenge you to make a project using the

Rock 'n' Roll Technique.

Here's a card made by Tina Gillespie using the Rock 'n' Roll technique.

To do this technique you will need 2 ink pads - one light colour and one dark colour.
Tina used Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy on the tree leaves in her card.
Firstly ink your stamp with the lighter colour.  A solid stamps works best.
Then ink just the edges of the stamp with the darker colour by gently rolling the edge around the inkpad.
Huff lightly on the inked stamp, and apply to your card stock.
Easy!

The Helping Hudson team look forward to seeing your challenge entries.
Remember to head over to the Challenges Page to check entry and eligibility conditions.
Entries that don't comply will not be eligible for prizes.
