Just Add Ink Challenge

The Helping Hudson team would like to say a huge huge thank you to the wonderful girls at Just Add Ink for their generous support.  They've gotten behind the efforts to help Hudson in so many ways - from donating wonderful tutorials, helping to spread the word, and setting challenges too.

Who are Just Add Ink?
"The Just Add Ink Design Team is a group of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators who love to get creative and share what they love with a variety of paper craft challenges.

The goal is to inspire, create and share the fun!
They set a new challenge each Friday.  The challenge ends on Wednesday and on Thursday the winners are announced, and awarded the Just Add Ink Top 5 badge to wear on their blog."

Their current challenge (Just Add Ink #30) is an extra special one put together for our little Hudson.

It is .....
Just Add ... Wheels

Stamp images, punches, Stampin-Around wheels - if it's circular it fits the criteria!

You can see the gorgeous gorgeous examples from the JAI Design Team on this post:  Just Add Ink # 30

You'll also find all the details about how to enter and can see the beautiful 'wheeled' creations people have entered so far.  Mr Linky will close for this challenge on Wednesday 18th August.

There's a prize from our Stampin' Up Australia prize box for this one too.  The JAI girls will draw a winner from the top 5 picks for this challenge.  A nice added incentive to get those inks out!

If you've got some creating time before then - put that thinking cap on and see what wheel inspired creations you can come up with.

And remember - if you are looking for some fabulous challenges to take part in, or some ideas to get your inspiration recharged - Just Add Ink is a wonderful site to help you get that creative energy happening.

Have a browse around - there's also a My Space section where we get a tour around the craft space of different people.  (I LOVE looking at people's craft nooks.)  And some wonderful tutorials.  And much much more.

Thank you Just Add Ink for your continued support.  Much appreciated.

Contributor Profile: Delys Cram

From WA this morning, we're now over to New Zealand for the next of our contributor profiles.

Delys Cram donated three tutorials - a wonderful festive Christmas Cracker for our Christmas Bundle, and 2 great scrapbooking tutorials - This Old House and a Watefall Mini Album.

Thank you so much Delys.

Let's find out a little more shall we ....

"Hi I am Delys Cram and I’m from the sunny Bay of Plenty in New Zealand ...Whakatane to be exact. I’m a sharemilker/dairy farmer , Mum of two – Rhys(16) and Jennifer (13)- and I am wife to Dave (23 years). I won’t mention my age as once you hit 40 it doesn’t really matter does it?

I started scrapbooking 9 years ago and was self taught until I started going to classes in 2004. I found Stampin’ Up! in 2008 and fell in love with the coordinating products. Even though I wasn’t much of a card maker, I was soon converted. I had been teaching scrapbooking for a few years previous so this was the natural progression to be able to sell the product and teach papercrafting. My passion remains around teaching and inspiring others on my blog and in my classes.

I have been fortunate enough to be published many times and being on New Zealands’ only papercraft magazine, The Up2Scrap Elite Team in 2008/2009. I am currently on the Just Add Ink design Team (Aus) and the Stampaholic 10/20/30 minute Design Team (US). I enjoy lots of laughs with these girls and cherish the friendships made. This friendship extends to my class ladies and to my wider team, but especially to my small team (Del InkQuents) who share my SU passion.

It’s all about sharing ideas for me and I will continue to share freely of my time and creations which is why I am happy to help The Helping Hudson cause today. "

Contributor Profile: Gayatri Murali

Time for a contributor profile.

The talented Gayatri Murali contributed three tutorials to the Helping Hudson project - a gorgeous picnic basket for our popular Bags, Boxes and Gifts Bundle, a terrific wallet for our Masculine Projects - just perfect for tucking a gift card into, and also a bleaching technique tutorial for our Bonus Bundle.

Thank you Gayatri.

Let's find out some more ......

"Hi, My name is Gayatri Murali.

I live with my husband and 2 children in Western Australia in the Goldfields town of Kalgoorlie.

I have been an arty person since childhood. I have made stuffed toys, tin embossing wall art, tin carving wall art, jewellery making and sketching since school days. But I first started scrap booking about 5 years ago. I used to make scrapbooks of my children’s development and achievements and send home to my parents and in-laws.

I then became a card maker couple of years ago. Initially, I used the scraps from the scrapbook page to make it. My handwriting was so bad that I started looking for sentiment stamps. This is when I saw Stampin’ Up! stamps. I became a demonstrator a year go.

As a hobby demonstrator, most of my cards and 3D items I make are for personal use. I love the idea of creating something new and gifting them to family and friends. I also take classes for school kids at school during the school term. I enjoy seeing them make things and take pride for it. Creating is therapeutic and I have made lots of friends along the way too.

I hope you enjoying creating projects using my tutorials."

Contributor Profile: Judy May

Time to hear from another of our generous tutorial contributors.  The lovely Judy May contributed several tutorials to our cause - instructions for a fabulous fridge calendar for our Bags, Boxes and Gifts Bundle, two lovely gift baskets for our Kids' Birthday Package (one for boys and one for girls) plus a handy tutorial on using Heat and Stick Powder for our Bonus Bundle.

Here's Judy to tell us a little about herself:

"I’ve been stamping and making cards since the early 1990’s, interspersed with other crafts such as quilting, cross stitch, embroidery, doll and bear making.
I found Stampin’ Up! products about 2 years ago and it was a match made in heaven! I love the quality of the products and the ability to easily match card stock, designer papers and accessories. Through this association I have met some lovely people and made new friends and gained the confidence to start my blog.
I joined as a hobby Demonstrator in May 2009 and now enjoy sharing my creations and love of Stampin’ Up! products with others. You can join me on my creative journey at my blog:  Just Judy Designs and I look forward to chatting with you."

Contributor Profile: Kristine Thompson

Let's find out some more about Kristine Thompson.

She donated 3 wonderful tutorials to our packages - A festive invitation for our Christmas Bundle, a rather nifty Magic Colour Card for our Kids' Bundle and a Billiards Card for our Punch Art Bundle.

Kristine also helped out with tutorial formatting and proofreading and we're very grateful for her support.

Over to Kristine to tell us a little more:

"My name is Kristine Thompson and I am a single mother to three very beautiful and very active children. I have been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for a year now and enjoy every day of it. I actually kind of accidently fell into this role. I went to a SU workshop a couple of years ago, thinking that it was just another of those scrapbooking parties only to find that I was immediately addicted to rubber stamps and ink pads. It took a while for my little hobby to lift off, but a year later I became a demonstrator just to fuel and pay for my addiction of stamping. Little did I know that it would take off the way it did and that I could make a small business out of it. I now hold regular classes at my house in Bayswater North every month and I love putting together my workshops. One of the main things that I have loved and cherished as a demonstrator is the friendships that I have made. Both with my customers and the many talented demonstrators I have been fortunate enough to meet."

Kylie has been a wonderful positive supporter of the site and we thank her for that too.

Here's Kylie to tell us more:

"I have been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator since May 2009 and I am having so much fun. I have met the most amazing women who are so inspiring. I also love anything craft and to be able to have such great quality products to work with is fantastic. I run classes from home in the Werribee area every Tuesday morning and Thursday night. TIME AGAIN FOR A PERSONAL "THANK YOU" OR THREE

As we proceed into the second week of this fantastic "Helping Hudson" effort, we are absolutely blown away by how overwhelmingly GOOD people are.

We'd like to take a moment to thank you all, once again, for everything you have done, and are doing, to help us help gorgeous little Hudson.

One person who deserves a special mention is Kirsty Boote, from Victoria. Kirsty has only just signed up as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, as part of the wider team of most of us on the "Helping Hudson" team. We have yet to meet you Kirsty - but look out, when we do, there are big hugs coming your way! When Kirsty read Tina's story, about what we are hoping to achieve for Hudson, she personally donated $500 to our cause. Kirsty, your generosity is incredible, and we would like you to know that we are extremely grateful.

A WONDERFUL family in Western Australia, who wish to remain anonymous, have made a huge donation to "Helping Hudson", after reading about his needs. We are very, very grateful to these beautiful people - thank you!!

We have, in recent days, received another equally generous donation, but no name was attached to the payment that was made into the Helping Hudson bank account. We really would like to be able to thank the person(s) who made this payment so, if it was not intended to be anonymous, please do step forward and let us know who you are. We can be contacted privately at helpinghudson@josi.com.au

Heartfelt thanks, from the entire "Helping Hudson" team xx

Let's find out more about another of our wonderful tutorial contributors.

Danielle Daws has donated a tutorial for our Masculine Tutorial Package - a terrific set of four cards in a matching folder using the Cheers To You stamp set and a fabulous colour combo.

Here's Danielle to tell us more:

"I live in Hobart, Tasmania with my wonderful husband Brian and our beautiful 3 year old daughter Olivia. My husband and I moved from Sydney to Tasmania a few years before we were married and we haven't looked back. It's such a beautiful place to live! I was a High School Drama and English teacher before becoming a stay at home mum... and an Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

I joined Stampin' Up! in February 2009 after attending one workshop - and I didn't even complete the make and take! I joined as a hobby demonstrator, and it's become so much more of a passion than I realised it would be. In the past six months I've been a guest designer for UStamp and launched Just Add Ink with Amanda Reddicliffe - I'm enormously proud of our site!
And it goes without saying that I'm thrilled to be onboard with Helping Hudson!"

StampAMemory Challenge

The Helping Hudson team would like to say a big thank you to the girls over at StampAMemory for their support for our project.  StampAMemory is a fabulous website to visit if you are looking for some inspiration for ways to use your Stampin' Up products in your scrapbooking.

There are also regular challenges and this time round their challenge is themed for the Helping Hudson cause.

Here's Nikki from StampAMemory to tell you more.

"Hi its the SAM team here with news of another exciting scrapbooking challenge being hosted by the StampAMemory site in conjunction with Helping Hudson - A Wheely Good Cause.

It was my turn this month to set the challenge and of course I just had to involve a wheel or two didn’t I! So the challenge is ... To scrapbook a page about wheels, maybe your first set of wheels, your child’s first bike, your child’s first car, that favourite pair of roller skates or skateboard ....

Once you’ve created your page hop on over to StampAMemory Challenge #13 post and follow the instructions to upload your page via Mr Linky or email one of the Design Team members and we will upload it for you.

Closing date is the 20th of August with the winner being announced here at Helping Hudson and on the Stampamemory site on the 22nd of August.

There is no charge to enter and yes, there are prizes.   A bundle of goodies from the Stampin’ Up! prize basket.

So what are you waiting for ... Let’s get scrapping and help Hudson at the same time."

Day Eight Giveaway Question

Every day the Helping Hudson team will be asking you to comment on a question.
At the end of each day a winner will be selected randomly to receive a small prize of Stampin' Up! Australia products.
This may include things such as ribbon, ink pads or rub ons.
You must include your name in the comment to be eligible for the prize.
Entries will close at midnight and the winner will be announced at noon tomorrow.
Entry is free, but the winner will only have 48 hours to claim their prize.
Unclaimed prizes will be given away in a random draw of all entrants on the 25th.

Today's question is:

What is your favourite Stampin' Up! colour?

We look forward to reading your answer, and please remember to come back tomorrow
for the next question and to find out who won.
As per Stampin' Up! Australia rules, only Australian residents are eligible for prizes.
While we cannot ship prizes overseas, any daily giveaway winners outside Australia have the option of nominating an Australian resident to donate their prize to. :-)
