Every day the Helping Hudson team will be asking you to comment on a question.
At the end of each day a winner will be selected randomly to receive a small prize of Stampin' Up! Australia products.
This may include things such as ribbon, ink pads or rub ons.
You must include your name in the comment to be eligible for the prize.
Entries will close at midnight and the winner will be announced at noon tomorrow.
Entry is free, but the winner will only have 48 hours to claim their prize.
Unclaimed prizes will be given away in a random draw of all entrants on the 25th.
Today's question is:
Where do you find inspiration when you lose your mojo?
We look forward to reading your answer, and please remember to come back tomorrow
for the next question and to find out who won.
As per Stampin' Up! Australia rules, only Australian residents are eligible for prizes.
While we cannot ship prizes overseas, any daily giveaway winners outside Australia have the option of nominating an Australian resident to donate their prize to. :-)
There are so many amazing online places now that you can visit for inspiration, I never lack of somewhere to go! When I find I have lost my mojo, I do a bit of blog surfing, visit splicoaststampers, ESAD, Crafters Anonymous, Stampin' Connect and places like that. Before too long I find I am all keen to get stuck into my crafting once again. :-)
ReplyDeleteChallenge sites!- sketch, colour theme,inspiration..you name it -I'm a challenge junkie! It is endlessly fascinating to me to see the amazing array of creative versions that come from one idea!
ReplyDeleteI find the best way to get my Mojo going is to do a challenge! I love a sketch challenge the most and I lay out some DSP, some matching cardstock and a stamp set I've neglected for a while... can't wait for my pre order to arrive so I can play with Artistic Etchings!
ReplyDeleteI have just started doing the challenges and find them really inspirational, but before then I would just take a few days away and then go in the craftroom and pull out something I either haven't used at all or for a looooong time and try and make something with it.
ReplyDeleteI find the best thing to do when my mojo goes on strike is to watch u-tube videos or flick through my mountain of scraping books and magazines, if that doesn't work, have a break, go for a drive in the country, or go shopping and buy more scrapping supplies to play with
ReplyDeleteblogs of other demonstrators as well as Challenge Sites like this one!
ReplyDeleteGreat blogs and challenge sites there are so many to choose from. There are so many talented people out there willing to share their tips and secrets you can always find something new to try.

ReplyDeleteif its just slight mojo missing i do a challenge or two or three lol. If its worse than that, i pack all my stuff away for a few days, spend some time outdoors with my family, then come back refreshed - usually whatever we had been doing outside inspires me for an idea.
ReplyDeleteOther blogs and the Ideas Book.
ReplyDeleteRach:)

ReplyDeleteSometimes the best thing is to take some time out and enjoy life outside of stamping - yes it actually does exist amazingly enough! And doesn't just mean catching up on all the housework!
ReplyDeleteChallenges, Splitcoast, magazines, blogs!!
ReplyDeleteI look at all the wonderful blogs of other SU demos both in Australia and overseas. I also have a pile of papercraft mags but other SU demos are the best at inspiring me!!!
ReplyDeleteMichelle S
I like to start with a sketch challenge and browse the net to get some inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI look through my magazines, and previous cards I have done, some time just sitting at my craft desk helps or I go and have a cup of tea and do something else the go back to what I was doing because sometimes you need a break to sort out your ideas and make them come together Heather Sherry
ReplyDeleteA trip around blogland is always good when my inpiration needs a bit of a recharge. :-)

Challenges, blog surfing and magazines.
ReplyDeleteDoing Challenges, Blog hopping and also my daughters clothing. Sometimes looking at the colours or the patterns gives me a mojo boost to create something different!
ReplyDeleteFirst point of call is over to my very talented Partner in Craft's Blog, she is so talented and her colour combinations and choice of stamps almost always gets me creating again :)
ReplyDeleteAs much I would love to say that blogs and fabulous internet sites give me inspiration. I have also found that if I sit down with a pile of cardstock, DSP, stamp set and think about who I would like to make this card for, something always comes to me. And usually as I am playing and experimenting I end up with several cards based around the same theme. So lose of mojo for me always leads to just sitting and playing for a little while and seeing what comes up.
ReplyDeleteI get together with my best friend, who is also a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, and we bounce ideas off eachother and she inspires me to try new things!
ReplyDeleteYou inspire me too Zara!!! I also find stamping with friends and seeing what they do with certain sets and techniques is very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteIf all else fails, Splitcoast or the IB&C
i browse online for cool pics etc to inspire..my fave spot to look is the ikea site! love all the straight clean crisp designs.
ReplyDeleteUsually when I clean up I get inspired to make something, especially if I find stuff that Ihaven't used/seen for a while!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lose my mojo, I colour in. I stamp out a pretty image, colour it in and usually end up making a card with it. Other times I try and make something new with instructions I've printed out from Split Coast.
ReplyDeleteI generally jump online and check out other peoples blogs or I'll find a sketch and work from there. Sarah
ReplyDeleteDefinitely other people's blogs, and Just Add Ink ... but I tend to get sucked into a time vortex, and spend hours trawling the internet instead of actually creating. I'll often get inspiration from homewares (plates, cushions)- junk mail's great for that. Also, standing in line at the post office, there's usually something like an environmentally friendly bag that catches my eye. Inspiration is all around us - can't EVERYTHING be translated into a SU! colour???!
ReplyDeleteI love other peoples blogs, sketches, clothes catalogues, and challenges
ReplyDeleteWhen I lose my mojo I go to various places - SU! catalogue, other blogs, Splitcoast Stampers, challenge sites, papercrafting magazines - there are endless sources to inspire you when you feel uninspired!
ReplyDeleteI take a tour of my favourite blogs until something catches my eye and then I try to CASE it, but because I don't have the same stamp sets or punches etc it usually turns into something completely different.
ReplyDeleteMary

There is so much on splitcoaststampers or other blogs I don't think we can lose our mojo!!! Lol. A glass of red or champagne helps too!! Lol love the ikea catalogue idea gonna try that one out.
ReplyDeleteI go to friends blogs becuase they are so so talented, stampin connections and splitcoast stampers too,
ReplyDeleteLooking through the card examples i have from attending su parties, splitcoaststampers website, craftstamper magazine and Australian Cardmaking and Stamping magazine but tidying my messy space is a sure fire way to get my mojo back.

ReplyDeleteI usually try to do a challenge or two. I look alot at other blogs and splitcoast too. Sometimes if I'm really crafted out - then I actually need to take a few days break then something usually in nature or a magazine will trigger a new thought and off I go again. Chantell
