Day Ten Giveaway Question

Every day the Helping Hudson team will be asking you to comment on a question.
At the end of each day a winner will be selected randomly to receive a small prize of Stampin' Up! Australia products.
This may include things such as ribbon, ink pads or rub ons.
You must include your name in the comment to be eligible for the prize.
Entries will close at midnight and the winner will be announced at noon tomorrow.
Entry is free, but the winner will only have 48 hours to claim their prize.
Unclaimed prizes will be given away in a random draw of all entrants on the 25th.

Today's question is:

Are you a messy crafter, or do you keep your craft space tidy?

We look forward to reading your answer, and please remember to come back tomorrow
for the next question and to find out who won.
As per Stampin' Up! Australia rules, only Australian residents are eligible for prizes.
While we cannot ship prizes overseas, any daily giveaway winners outside Australia have the option of nominating an Australian resident to donate their prize to. :-)

  1. In my mind I am have a nice neat crafting space, but if I wake up to reality and look around, I have stuff everywhere in my craft room. The room is a complete new craft project all on its own.

  2. I get in a huge mess but then tidy it all up before I start something new! It's really messy now but I'll tidy it all up and then get into my new stash as soon as I can!

  3. I always believe that the first sign that someone is good at crafty things is the size of the mess left behind .... so yes I make lots and lots of mess LOL

  4. I definitely fall into the category of 'messy' and sadly I spend a lot more time tidying up my stash than I'd like! BUT it is so much easier to create in a fresh tidied up space...

  5. mess, mess, messy! I have an 8-seater kitchen table as my desk and when I'm done a project, you can't see an inch of "table" on it!

  6. I start out so clean and tidy but end up with so much stuff on my desk I am working in the tiniest space. I have to clean it up after every project or otherwise I would be working on the floor!

  7. while working I am very messy, sometimes resorting to the floor. But cant stand the mess once i am finished, so madly scrounge around cleaning up.

  8. I start out with a clean and organised space...which soon turns into mess, I pile up all around me. I clean up after every project though so I can start the process all over again :o)

  9. I always start out clean and tidy - but by the time I get everything out I end up wondering where I put stuff. I could understand if I had a small workspace but I have a huge desk. I do try to tidy up by the end of the day - but ensure I have a clean space so I can start again.

  10. I make a bit of a mess while I'm working but have to pack it away, not tidy just 'away', so my kids don't get into everything. A 2 and a 4 year old that want to do craft would be a disaster for my prized posessions! I don't have space for a craft room so I can't just lock a door on it unfortunately.

  11. The craft desk is always neat and tidy when I start, extremely messy while doing a project and then tidy at the end...I just can't start a new project if the desk is cluttered

  13. I am not only a mess - I have taken over the house thus the house is a mess. I have a 7x17' room that is mine. It has floor to ceiling closets on one wall, 17' of desk space on the other with storage under and cupboards over. It is over flowing to piles all over the floor. I have 2 bookcases topped by 2 paper sorters in the kitchen - a great place to stack stuff. The kitchen table is 2/3 covered (have to have someplace to eat). Have 6 4' tall iris carts in the Dining Room. Tops of carts, china cabinet, server and dining room table are buried. Have just started CD racks in the Bedroom in an attempt to organize them. Also have cupboards full of paper in the garage in addition to that in the Stamping room and kitchen. Can you organize me?

  14. No one has seen Mess until they see my workspace! About once a month I have to tidy and sort so that I can actually get creative again..

  15. I'd love to get this space tidy and gorgeous looking! Am usually a spread it everywhere girl and make a giant mess in the process. I do LOVE seeing pics of craft spaces almost as much as pics of craft projects. One day this room will look like those ones in the mags!

  17. Yep.. total mess.. By the time I am finished a project our entire unit has slowly morphed from a couple of piles to one huge pile of "Nicole's SU stuff". Mind you there is always method to my madness and I know where everything is..

  19. I am the queen of mess - and i hate it - i infinitely prefer it to be clean and organised, but i am severely time anemic so it's tidy for days or do some craft and the craft wins!

  20. What a great question! I always felt embarassed about the fact that I am a MESSY crafter. Stuff everywhere!! Now, I feel much less embarassed knowing I am not alone!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Messy! Absolutely! I usually have 4 or 5 different projects on the go and multiple stamp sets out. I'm planning on being tidier in our new house... will see how that goes!!

  22. Oh undoubtably messy! lol. I do try, honest I do, but somehow it just never seems to stay tidy.

I do enjoy getting stuck in and cleaning up my craft space though, it gives me lots of inspiration to begin making a mess all over again. :-)

  23. oh I so wish that I could post a photo of the craft room now. lol - it is soooooooo messy!!! man alive. I do try hard to keep it tidy though - having classes helps me to be more tidy.

  24. Oh I love these replies.....they crack me up. I like everyone am messy. Start off tidy then it looks like there has been a hurricane in my room! Some days I don't know how it happens - the mess just appears. I wonder - is there anyone out there than can start and finish tidy?

  27. Messy ....but a good mess.I do wish for a tidy desk but that I think would be a miracle and would definitely be too much for my dear husband who does at times have trouble finding a spot on my desk for the cups of hot water he brings me!

Really you only need a 12x12 space for your cutting board!

  28. organized mess! To non crafters it's a total mess but to me I know where everything is. But as my only area is the dinning table everything has it's place back into storage after.

  29. Was quiet embarrassed to say DEFINATLY a messy crafter until I realised that just about everyone else is within the same boat as me! Doing classes is helping me to make sure my room is cleaned regularly!

  30. I am definately a messy crafter. I don't currently have a designated area where I can just leave everything be so I have to pack it up all of the time. I have piles of "organised mess" in my storage area. It looks horrendous to everyone else but to me I know where everything is, well most of the time that is.

  31. Tidy!!! I have to have a clean and organised workspace as my area is only small and I would go crazy not being able to find things. Sarah

  32. I start of with a tidy craft space, then create an organised mess and once finished must tidy the space for the next organised mess!!

  34. My computer desk is also my craft desk so it has to be kept clean. I spend a considerable amount of time re-organising my supplies so that they are conveniently handy to pick up, use and put away.

  35. My craft desk is a very tidy work space ... right up unitl I sit down lol, then its everything everywhere, and stays that way until I can find no space to work (usually after a few projects) then I clean it back to starting point (or close to). Sometimes I walk away mid project and it stays messy, but its harder to get back to when its like that.

  36. what a great question... I am the most messy crafter. I get everything out and dont put it away and then get more out. I have piles of stuff on my desk and really wish I could be much tidier. It is good to know I am not the only one that is like this.

    ReplyDelete

  41. I have to have a clean space to get my creative juices flowing. Everything has to be in its place. I do get messy after a session, but generally tidy up after each one. I have one cupboard that I allow myself to just "chuck things in" to keep out of sight.
